Patch PTA Members,
In accordance with our Constitution, changes to our By-laws
require 2/3 majority approval at a membership meeting. The
Constitution also requires that proposed changes be provided
at least 30 days an advance. This e-mail is to provide you
advance notice that at the next membership meeting
(date/time to be advised), we will need to vote on the
following change to the By-laws. The discrepancy was
detected during a review of our renewal package, and passing
this change is a condition of approval to remain in
operation past May 09.
The change is as follows: Article XII, Section 4 must be
removed in its entirety. Rationale: the legal office has
determined that it contradicts Section 3 of the same
article.
SECTION 4: Participating
retired military personnel, their family members, and other
personnel not authorized full logistical support under
USAREUR Regulation 600-700, will be informed of their
responsibility to notify appropriate customs on any item
purchased or won (other than for immediate consumption) if
the value of the item exceeds $50.00.
